Gloomy Out

Today has basically been a cold and gloomy day outside. There has not been any bad weather as far as snow or rain as anticipated but that does not mean that there's not something right around the corner. According to the weather guessers there may be some snow tomorrow although I don't know if it will make it into the valley. It's cold but warm enough that rain will not turn to snow unless the temperature drops a bunch.

Most everyone I talk to lately is hoping that the snow, if it comes, will hold off until closer to Christmas day or on Christmas Day so we can enjoy a white Christmas. While this is nice it does make traveling to friends and family much more difficult and slow going. Oh well that is all part of the holiday I suppose.

Cycling

Today at some point I am planning on going for a ride on the trainer. I am not sure if I'm going to start on my Trainer Road training or if I will do one off of the map on my CycleOps Virtual Trainer software. The Trainer Road workout may be better today but because I am still not 100% healthy there is a good chance that my numbers and the bar I set for myself will not be as high or at least as accurate as it should be.

Either way I need to get my ass on the bike sooner than later that's for sure. I worked my ass off riding to get in better bike shape last summer as well as knocking 20 off pounds in only a few months. So the last thing I want to do is start gaining weight over the winter months and then feeling like shxt or being pissed off at no one but myself if clothes and stuff no longer fit etc.

More importantly, or is it? I think it goes hand in hand. The cycling and the weight loss that is. I actually enjoy riding very much and pushing myself so that is a big part of it. Losing the weight, feeling better and clothes fitting is a side effect of the hobby/sport depending how you look at it. Although, a great side effect!

Thai

For lunch today and because as I said it's cold and gloomy outside I am planning to have some good Thai food. Cicely went down to one of our favorite Thai restaurants, 'Simply Thai' about half an hour ago to pick up some food.

They have a really good soup I always get. I think it's called Tom Kah? It's really good stuff! It has chicken and all kinds of vegetables in it with some sort of a coconut broth and spices galore, but not crazy spicy hot like Thai food can be.

I like to have this soup over steamed white rice on days like this or when I am sick. It's an awesome comfort food and hits the spot every time.

I also always make sure to get some curry puffs as well. They make for a great appetizer and they are almost a meal by themselves if you only ordered a box of six of them. I don't know how to explain them other than they are crunchy with a soft curry filling and awesome tasting.

Bike Shop

We were supposed to run out to Black Rock Bikes today and find out if they wanted to do anything with Cicely's bike that I had bought her this past summer and she has not ridden even 1 foot. Anyway, I emailed one of the guys at the shop last week her his request along with some photos of her bike and I never heard anything back. Basically now I have no clue if they are interested in doing some sort of a trade-in or not on a cruiser bike for her.

The fire now is that she will call them sometime today and we will decide if we are going to go out there or not. The bad part that is it's getting later in the day, almost to gym right now, and I think they close around five maybe they are open as late as six but still that is cutting it close. I still need to put the bike rack on the new car as well as Zoe's car seat in there and that sort of thing. Sure it only takes a few minutes but it's just one more thing.

Then if they do want us to take the bike out there so they can look at it and it will be a little bit of work for me because I will have to put tubes back in the tires. If they want to take care of that for us I am okay with that as well. I just have to find out if the bike will sit steady and locked into place on the bike rack with flat tires.

Cube

The other goal that I have in the back of my head today is to try and get my cube 3-D printer hooked-up, setup and calibrated to use and start printing some crap on it. I don't know if I will actually have the time to do it or not but it's in the back of my mind and has been for months honestly.

Really the damn thing does not take that long to get up and running from what I have read and seen online and of course I do have the time it's more on my shoulders and all about me getting motivated mentally to go ahead and do it.

Otherwise it's far too easy to waste away an entire day sitting on my ass on the couch until the next thing I know, the day is over and I have done nothing with it that is of any value in relation to my time I have off from work.

Enough

I think that will do it for today's 'rabble rabble' entry. There is not much else going on as I normally say at the end of every entry, LOL. It's true, I mean there is always something going on but not enough to talk about until my voice goes out and to simply fill up the white space on the page.

So until next time, yea - basically meaning tomorrow, hopefully you have an awesome Saturday.

Photo: Another cute notice that we received from Zoey's school letting us know about another upcoming event on the schedule. Very cool they do this stuff for us, we like getting the little reminders and they are cool too.
