Leadership Lunch

Today is a fairly average day for the middle of the work week. I have a leadership lunch that starts at 11:30 and should go until 1:00 or so depending. I don't chat with the managers on the other studio as much as I use to do it will be nice to hear how things are going and what everyone is up to.

Yesterday I was able finish up the last of my end of the year wrap ups and let everyone know what they received for merit and bonuses if they were eligible for either or both.

In all honesty it was much easier than I thought that it would be and there were some great conversations that came out of them. I think that everyone was satisfied with the final numbers as well and understood that it was a bit of a lower than expected year for the company as a whole and to be able to still hand out a few bucks as well as merit was a big deal.

I have yet to have my review or know what is up and coming for the coming year and that is okay. My manager and director actually have to sit in on all of the reviews and work with and help the two new engineering managers through their 1:1's because they have only managed their teams for a few months so it's difficult to get a good grasp of performance and they want to be sure to be completely fair with everyone.

Storm

So the big storm that the weather guessers promised has not touched down yet and the crazy wind has not started blowing either. It does look a bit gloomy out and the mountains do have that look as though they are acting as a dam, holding back the storm.

My guess is that if it's going to get windy it will today and that will blow in the rain, it will snow a ton in the hills and from there turn out rain in the valley into snow as well. Personally I would like it to wait a couple weeks until we are off work so I can tug Zoey around in the new sled that I bought her. Plus that way we don't have to commute in the crap. Always a concern for us, mostly because of the other drivers not paying attention or driving too fast in the bad weather.

Cold Bug

So I finally talked to my doctor because this dam cold refuses to go away and she decided to prescribe me something for it to be on the safe side.

I think it's a medicine that I have had once before and worked very well. Problem is, it was called in to the online pharmacy instead of the local one. Easy mistake, they are so busy there and usually I want it to go to the online one only so no big deal. I simply need to see if they can get it switched over to the local place or not today.

Otherwise by the time I get it from the online pharmacy and shipped it will be another 3 to 5 days and I would rather not have to wait that long. The cough is what is kicking my ass and not allowing me to sleep. Hopefully I will get that soon and all will be good!
