Today is the big day for both of the kids. This means that it's a crazy morning for Cicely and I and we have been going 100 miles an hour from the moment we woke up to get everyone where they need to be, at the time they need to be there. At the same time we of course need to get ourselves ready for work and all things associated with that.
Oggy
This morning I have a hunch that our fuzzy-kid is wondering what the heck is going on. He did not get a treat after going out and taking care of his morning bathroom duties and soon thereafter when he walked up to his food bowl in hopes of finding kibble and chicken breast with some veggies mixed in, there was nothing. Only a water bowl which of course was not even close to what he wanted to see.
Reason why is because this morning he has a vet appointment to have his teeth cleaned and to get a couple growths removed and tested that he has in 2 of his cute little legs. He was required to 'fast' last night from midnight, I think this is the first time we have had to do this for him at an appointment.
For the teeth cleaning he has to be put under so they can do the best job possible without the dogs moving around, being scared or possibly reacting and biting. They have no idea what is going on, to them it's simply someone with some weird things that make a lot of noise and feel funny or hurt.
Getting the little calluses or warts removed is not entirely necessary but it's in our best interest to do so while he is already going to be under anesthesia for the teeth cleaning.
I have five main hopes and wishes today for his visit and when we pick him up this afternoon once everything is done. In order of importance even though to us they are all important. Well except for the last one. Number five is always important but we will always do what we can for our fuzzy kiddo, love you buddy!
1. Everything goes smooth and he has no reactions or problems.
2. He does not need to have any teeth extracted or messed with beyond a cleaning.
3. They feed him after he is done with the procedure and he's coming off anesthesia.
4. Probably wishful thinking but I hope he does not have to go home wearing a cone.
5. That everything doesn't cost more than the original quote. Under $1,000 would be ideal.
I doubt I will have time to update the post this afternoon, well I will have time I'm sure but my focus will be on Oggy and our normal evening duties. Possibly tomorrow I will give an update.
**Update: So we received a call and the vet said that Oggy's teeth look really good with the exception of the front little teeth. They are all decayed pretty bad and are even creating problems with the bone under the gums. This will only get worse and will eventually require extraction or he will be in pain (if he is not already because of it). They will be removing eight of his little front teeth and they are already fairly loose from what they said, and were able to check from the x-rays.
No big deal, well it is cause it's our little fuzzy buddy but this is the best thing for him. I don't want the bones in his mouth rotting, his breath to get bad and most importantly him to be in pain. It will run us another $220 to have this done plus I would imagine we will need some prescriptions for him as well to ease the pain for a few days.
Have not heard anything on the bumps yet. They will look at those and give Cicely a call would be my guess. I will try to update this entry again if I have the time this afternoon to do so with regards to what they determined they are. I guess they could be fatty bits, calluses or something like that. Hopefully nothing worse, my buddy has been through enough for one day! Thankfully the vet he is at is awesome so he is in good hands.
**Update 2: So around 2:00 PM we received a call from the vet that Oggy was all finished and was coming out of anesthesia just a little while before they called. He did wonderful and only had to have 6 of his teeth pulled rather than all 8 as anticipated. Still a lot of teeth but in the big picture he will be much better off, have no pain and will have healthy jaw bones in the front.
They were able to remove 2 of the small skin tag type growths. One on his leg and the other just under his eye. The larger one that is on the back of one of his rear legs they decided to not mess with this time because between having the teeth pulled and then that, there is far too much risk for infection so they would rather error on the safe side of things.
Looks like he is all done though and probably wonders what the heck we dropped the poor guy off to have done today, feel so bad for him. He has no idea why we take him there and only knows that he hurts a lot of the time after we are done, even if only a shot or something. All done now though unless we decide to go back again and do something with the growth on his leg.
He will be on some meds for a few and may have a little drool or blood as his mouth heels the next few days. We will have to be sure to give him soft food as well so he does not have to use his jaws and teeth too much. Poor little guy, I cant wait to pick him up tonight - I hope he is happy to see us and understands that we do these things for his benefit and we love him very much!

Yard Ape, meet Santa. Santa, meet Yard Ape
Today is the big day for Zoey she is going to meet Santa Claus at 9:00 AM and have photos taken with him. I'm not sure how she will react because it seems every kid is different. Some kids cry, other kids are okay but give Santa an evil glare. Not sure exactly what she will do to be honest. She is generally really good with people and not scared of much.
All that I can do now is show up and see how she does. I am typing this entry now as we are driving to her daycare for the big introduction. I guess this sets the stage for the future, she will know who the jolly fat man is and will expect his plump ass to show up with everything on her wish list that year. Under the tree, wrapped, labeled and waiting Christmas morning.
**Update: The Santa Claus visit went off without a hitch. All of the kids did really good and Zoey was no exception. The only issue she had was that she was more interested in Santa than looking in the direction of the camera and everyone watching her. It was a little tough to get a good photo of her smiling until finally Santa propped her up higher instead of on his knee.
Once he did that she was in her zone and smiling like crazy. Nice going sweetheart, we are proud of you - that is a scary new situation to deal with and you pulled through it like a pro!

Sick Again!!
So you read the title of this paragraph correct, I am sick once again and if you assumed that I was also pissed off because of it you would again be correct. I literally just got over my other cold and only for 2 days did I mostly feel well and back to my normal self. My guess is that I caught the newest cold that both Cicely and Zoey are dealing with.
That's It For Today
Okay we made it everywhere on time and even a little bit early - hard to believe, but we did it. Really we had little to no choice in the matter of course. We had to get Oggy to his appointment and Zoey to school so she could be there when Santa Claus was. All went as planned, whew, busy morning is done and now checked off of our list.
Photo: Our little Zoey sitting on Santa's lap for the first time. She did awesome, no crying or fussing. Although it was difficult to get her to look at the camera, she was very interested in Santa.
