Storm? Ha, No Chance

All over the news the weather reports are calling for a big storm that should drop several inches to feet of snow in the mountains and higher elevations and the guess is that we will get one to four inches down in the valley.

I'm thinking that they once again prematurely guessed the weather and what they thought was going to happen. Other areas of the country are getting hit or are supposed to get hit hard and already are. Look at us and we are sitting at a cozy warm day in the mid 40's which is not bad at all around this time of the year.

Heck, I was considering wearing shorts today when we went out running errands and decided not to. Otherwise going back to jeans again would suck that much more. It's annoying enough needing to go to them once a year much less several times as the seasons try to make up their minds as to whether it's warm or cold.

On the bright-side of things, if we do in fact get some snow we are still off work and can sit around and do whatever we want versus needing to drive to and from work in the crap. As I have mentioned in many other posts I'm sure, is that I am not worried about Cicely or I in the crap weather I worry more about every other person out there.

For example just today there were drivers doing 15 to 20 miles or more below the speed limit because the sun was bright and shining just right on the roads, on-ramps and related. I total understand being cautious and driving carefully but what they end up doing is driving carelessly instead. This agitates all other drivers around so they then drive faster than they should or make overly aggressive passes that they can't control and people end up in accidents.

**Update: Okay people, so I was wrong and we did in fact get snow tonight and so I stand corrected. Sure it was nothing more than a light dusting, the guessers still called it and I am okay admitting when I am wrong. Lucky guess guys, lucky guess!

Beer

Looking online today I found this Croatian beer and that they carry it at the local Total Wine & More store. I found it long ago as well online and it was super expensive and was actually coming from Croatia. I think it worked out to $4 a bottle which is not earth shattering, but I had to order 12 or 18 minimum, maybe it was 24? Then the shipping and other fees were another $35 or so!

Anyway got to the store and the shelves were empty of the beer that I wanted to pick up but there was no sign stating that it was completely out of stock which was a good sign. Cicely went and asked one of the store employees if they had any so they came over, looked up above the shelf and whatta you know they had two more full cases of it - woot!

I did not need a case of 24, my plan was to only get 6 of those and a few other beers I found online from the Czech regions. Once that was solved I looked around for the other 4 beers I wanted and was able to find 3 more with one being completely out of stock with no exact time-frame when it would be back on the shelf.

No big deal, a total win for our trip to be perfectly honest. I have never had these beers before so let's hope that I like them and they are not some weird bitter crap! I mean they 'shouldn't be' because they are lagers, labeled as European pilsner and very light as well. Sounds like everything I wanted and like. I mean generally I like to drink cheap domestic beers so I don't have much of a palette for the bitter IPA's and related.

I probably Will not be able to taste test any of them tonight because I need to go for a ride still. I suppose that I could after cycling but it seems like it defeats the purpose. I almost forgot I also bought a bottle of cherry bourbon and I am curious as to how it will taste.more on that as well as the beers in the coming days.

Raising Canes

After going to Total Wine Cicely and I were super hungry because we had not eaten since breakfast. Since we were on that side of town and wanted to go over and get chicken yesterday we went ahead and went to Raising Canes and had some chicken breast fingers, coleslaw, fries and thick toast bread with sweet tea to wash it all down.

I had four pieces of chicken, about one half to three quarters of my fries and all of my coleslaw and skipped on the bread and sweet tea other than a sip or two.

Cicely had 3 pieces of chicken, some fries and the thick toast bread. She also took my piece since I did not want it or have room for it. She filled up fast as well and had to take the piece to go.

Zoey did outstanding and I am super proud of her as I always am. She had two bites of coleslaw, bites of chicken (we took off the greasy breading for her), bites of the toasted bread and probably a total of 6 fries if that. Then I used one of the small ketchup cups to give her drinks of water and again she did great and had almost no problem at all getting drinks.

Once full we drove over to Babies r Us to pick up formula for Zoey and headed home, smack dab in the middle of the 5 o'clock traffic we are generally lucky enough to avoid daily and should not be in today since we are off work. It's the price we pay to run errands late in the day though, at least it's all done now!

TA-DA That's All

Anyway, not much else to chat about today other than the weather, people behind the wheel and our errands we took care of. When it comes to people driving I think I could easily rabble about that on any given day, heck the weather too for that matter! Even if I had to for weeks on end it still counts as a daily entry and that is the goal!

Speaking of which I thought for sure at some point I would have already began to slack on them. It's a bitch to do one everyday! If that happens and I get burned out I will have to do only a paragraph or so, heck even just a couple sentences and a photo those days and call it good, again part of the original plan anyhow so it's all good.

Photo: Not the best photo, Total Wine was busy with everyone getting beer, wine and spirits for their New Year celebrations. I could spend hours in the place window shopping at the thousands of different things to drink.
