The Little Lights... They Aren't Twinkling!

First things first, Merry Christmas to all of my family, friends and those that may become friends in the coming year. Other than not believing that it's already Christmas the day has been a great one and it's not even 1/2 over as I write this entry.

Eve

So we ended up going over to dad and Cyndi's house around 5:00 PM yesterday when Cicely made it back from stopping by her parents house to drop off gifts. We ended up staying late as we always do, until 1:30 AM to be exact. We watched a little TV once home because we were wide away for some reason and finally hit the sack at almost 3:00 AM.

It was a really nice night over there having sarma for dinner and hanging out with everyone. Kelly helped dad this year make the sarma and also so she could learn how to make it and the tricks that are involved to making perfect, well seasoned tightly rolled cabbage rolls. Kelly also made an apple pie that she was not happy with but everyone said that it tasted awesome. I had pumpkin pie this time not the apple but I should have tried the apple I guess.

Cicely and I both were given a lot of great gifts and we even got to open a few that were for Zoey from Kelly and Dan as well as Dad and Cyndi. We also got a blanket and some booties for her from her great grandma - Cyndi's mom. That was SUPER nice of her as well and we really appreciate it. A really good time all around from dinner to dessert and gifts.

Santa

So all of us must have been good this year. Santa left gifts for me, Cicely and Oggy when we woke up this morning -woot! For Oggy, he received and opened all by himself 2 presents. One was a green cookie bone and the other was an icing covered Santa head cookie.

Cicely has a few gifts that are still on their way because of some shipping issues but she still had several things to open. I did not have any crazy surprise gifts for her this year like I usually do - well actually that is not entirely true because the few that are should show up Friday are things that she did not expect. The things she did get she asked for so I got them for her. She got a onesie from me for baby that is from one of her favorite designers. Then she she got a camping stove from BioLite that she has been wanting really bad for about a year. Next there were several types of makeups and table covers for her display tables at her jewelry shows. Last I got her some of these sushi popping candy kits where you make your own candy that ends up looking like sushi, ice cream, cakes and so on depending on the kit.

For me Santa Cizzle delivered me a really cool knife that I have been wanting for quite some time, a 3 pack of chapstick as my gag gift, these Craftsman supports that hold things down when you need to do cuts and that sort of thing. I have a set currently but could use another set and now I have it - cool. Next she got me this really cool mustard kit that I wanted. You just add beer and some water, then make your own homemade mustard - yum! Next a Craftsman blanket that I wanted for when I am lounging around this house relaxing.

Last but not least of course I FINALLY got my GoPro Hero Black Edition+. It's going to be really cool to use for everything from the baby to things like when I am flying my new Stingray 500. Plus I want to get the equipment and learn to fly FPV (first person view) with the video goggles and it's the perfect camera for that as well as everything else.

Breakfast

Once we were done opening gifts and texting / calling family to wish them a merry Christmas we were starving! Cicely made us an awesome breakfast with everything from eggs to bacon, toast with almond butter and some slices of tangerines on the side. I had a second big ass cup of coffee and Cicely had a nice big cup of her favorite tea.

Once eating we started watching Christmas Vacation just like we do at least once every year - usually more than once actually, but always once. Finished up our breakfast and started to get a little lazy and sleepy on the couch while watching the rest of the movie. Exactly what Christmas is all about, spending time with family and resting, reflecting and what ever floats your boat.

Freeze!

With that I think I am done writing today's entry. I want to watch the rest of the movie and kick back for a few hours. Then play with some of my new stuff like my GoPro camera and other items. Plus I need to cut up the cardboard and Styrofoam from the packaging of the crib. After I would like to be able to get the curtains hung up in the baby room. Cicely's mom will be here in a couple days and we still have quite a bit to do before she gets here so she will have a nice place to sleep and have a little privacy during her stay. Should be fun, we have not visited with her for several years and many more than that as far as her being here over Christmas.

I hope you are having or have had a wonderful Christmas however you are spending it and whomever you are spending it with. I know that mine has been awesome and I am lucky to have everyone that I have around me all year long!

Photo: One of our gifts - Moscato wine - we were given last night from Dad and Cyndi. It was wrapped in this cool Santa suit. Great way to wrap it we thought, thanks guys!
