Mom-In-Law Visit, Day 1

So we picked up Cicely's mom at the airport at just after midnight last night, her flight was on time and there was almost no traffic going there, driving back home or at the airport and it was great!

The 3 of us ended up staying up talking until nearly 2:30 AM. Basically just catching up in general since it has been 3-4 years since we last visited. We finally called it a night once we all started yawning and getting glassy-eyes. So we hit the sack and that was in our best interest for sure. Mostly because we all slept-in until almost 10:00 which I especially never do! But apparently my body was in need of it.

Good Morning

Once up and moving I made myself some coffee and fed the fuzzy kid. Cicely made us all breakfast and we again sat around chatting. Cicely showed her mom a bunch of her new projects, brainstormed with her mom about different fabrics to use, things to make and so on. A really good thing for her to get the creative juices flowing.

Today I am not sure what exactly is on the agenda but possibly going shopping a little for baby and that sort of thing. I need to get one of the self healing cutting mats for us to use in our now combined studio / tech room to do our best to save the finish on the desk.

Her mom already brought us an entire suitcase full of stuff for baby that we can really use and will need. Everything from blankets to bottles as well as sheets and stuff to trim her nails, brush her hair and that sort of thing. Totally unexpected but totally appreciated of course.

Lazy Mostly

So I was the only one that ended up putting on something other than my sleep wear. Both Cicely and her mom stayed in their pajamas the entire day. No problem with that actually and we all 3 sat around on the couch watching the DIY Network and renovation shows. It may sound like a wasted day and a little boring but it was great. Lot's of chat, hanging out and that sort of thing vs. running around town and spending money for no good reason.

Cicely and her mom did leave for about 1/2 hour and run down to the Thai restaurant we like that is close by home. So yep, we managed to not even go out to dinner either ha ha. I know, I know, this is no way to treat a visitor, much less my mom-in-law but hey, it's exactly what my wife and her want for the day so that means it's exactly what I want too!

Anyway, with that - dinner's here!
