Mom-In-Law Visit, Day 2

Stayed up late last night but nothing like the first night. I finally called it a night at 12:30 PM and I was the last one up. Mostly because I was catching up on watching some of the shows I had recorded on TiVo. Stuff like Bering Sea Gold and then a few on the net that I subscribe to on YouTube.

Good Morning

Today started just like yesterday did and I am fairly certain that tomorrow will be more of the same. A nice big breakfast that Cicely made for us. Fried eggs, bacon, toast with almond butter and garnished with some strawberries and tangerines. A big cup of coffee that I made before everyone else got up washed it all down and kick start my motivation for the day.

Cicely had some eggs and toast as well and her mom only had some toast and tea with a side of strawberries. She does not eat much usually anyhow so we end up over feeding her I worry :).

Once breakfast was over we all 3 sat on the couch and Cicely's mom took out her laptop so we could see her house she is building in the Dominican Republic. It is a really cool house and big too! It's crazy how different they have to build the homes compared to over here in the states. They mostly use stone and concrete and very little wood.

There has to be ornamental bars on any windows or entry ways so when she is not there the house is safe. Otherwise people will break in and steal whatever they can. It does not matter what it is either. Everything from toilets to ceiling fans, doors, sinks, shower curtains heck even the shingles off your house if they can get to them.

Anyway really cool to get to see it all and see her progress on the house. It has been a lot of years in the making and still has quite a bit of work to go, but always moving forward which is good.

The only bad part is that seeing the clear blue ocean and sandy beaches is making us want to go back to the Caribbean for a vacation. Maybe we can once baby is born so she can dig her little toes into the white sandy beaches. Probably be a few years though, she needs to be able to walk and enjoy the experience so we can as well. No fun for the us or the kiddo if we have carry her around.

Dogs & Pigs

So one of the funniest videos she took from the window of the apartment she was staying in was of this dog that has a crush on a local pig. Basically it was 5-10 minutes of this dog trying to hump this pig. The pig just kept eating and sniffing around while the dog kept trying to mount her lol! The dog would get tired and lay down for a few minutes to rest, get back up and try again.

People would walk or drive by while this was going on and it did not even phase them. Too funny the things that go on in other countries that you would never see over here in the states.

The Day

So for the rest of the day Cicely and her mom left and went up to the outdoor mall and a few other places to do a little window shopping and hang out. Once back home it was time to kick back and watch some more DIY network so she could get more ideas for her house in The Dominican Republic.

All-in-all another really good day visiting and hanging out. I think Cicely is having a good time visiting and spending time with her mom. We still have a couple more days to look forward too as well. I am having a good time as well.
