We even have a nice ice skating rink death trap just outside of our front door that I have to constantly remember is there. I have almost eaten shxt a couple times hurrying out to start the cars or get something out to the trash before the garbage guy shows up. The gutters have thankfully held up to the weight of being filled with snow and water that is freezing overnight. Then melts just enough to leak out and cause dangerous areas below.
Ok Mother Nature, as fun as this has been I think it is time to warm things back up a little bit and at least let the snow melt until we get hit next time. As it sits currently we have barely lost, via melting, any of the snow that fell last week. This is actually pretty rare for our area. Normally, even if we get a couple feet of snow in the valley it is mostly melted and gone with in 3 to 5 days.
Anyway, enough about that I guess. I am once again just filling some white space I guess because this time of the year there is really not that much going on. I mean there is, but the weeks become very similar and I would simply be writing about more of the same each time. Heck I probably do that anyway and in my mind think it is something unique ha ha.
Kiddo
It was pretty exciting to come home last night to find Zoey's bassinet on the from porch. Well not literally, rather the box that it shipped in was waiting for us. I had considered putting it together but seeing how we did not even eat dinner until almost 9:30 PM I figured the best idea was to probably wait until today or maybe even this weekend when I had a little more time.
Next to this package there was a longer box as well. What was this one we thought? I opened it and then it hit me - it's this really cool wooden growth chart that I picked up from a seller on eBay a few days back. That sure got here fast. I will admit that it also looks so much better in person. Not that it does not look good in the photos online, but they just don't do it justice.
The wood is thick vs. the wall decals everyone seems to use - and what we actually considered initially not knowing what else was out there. The painting is very well done and with nice bright colors. All of the cuts that define flowers and related are smooth so there are no sharp edges whatsoever to worry about.
As you can probably guess, I am really happy with this purchase. Plus it was only $38 if I remember correctly. That works out to $20 to $40 less than even many of the vinyl growth charts.
Photo Shoot
Today Cicely had to take a few hours off from work to go downtown and partake in a photo shoot that was going on for the a local magazine. I should clarify, she is not actually in the photo shoot but her jewelry is along with accessories as well. This will be the second time that she has been in this magazine and all exposure is good exposure in the art community. It was a really fast shoot as well. Normally they can last upwards of 4 hours or full to multiple days worth of shooting.
I am glad that she was asked to be a part of it. She originally told them she may not be able to do it because of other obligations. They wanted her jewelry in the photos so badly that they literally worked around her schedule the best that they could to accommodate. I thought that was really cool of them to do. No matter how bad you want or need something like that a schedule is a schedule and I am sure they had to either make some adjustments or really plan for it. All-in-all it turned out and will be cool to see more photo's of Cicely Margo's jewelry in Reno-Tahoe Tonight.
Photo: More frost today, hanging off of the mirror on Cicely's VW Beetle. Pretty cool how it is sticking out horizontal and not being affected by gravity. The phone camera once again does not do it the justice it deserves. Looks so much cooler in person.
