C'mon Sunshine

So over the night we did not get anymore snow as expected so everything just pretty much froze up. The roads are not too bad where there is a lot of traffic but the neighborhoods and roads less traveled are little ice skating rinks.

The weather guessers say that we should not expect anymore of the white stuff down here in the valley for the remainder of the week. The temperature is crazy cold for us though, sitting at only 5 degrees this morning when I checked. It feels that cold too, the air is really dense.

Plans

Alright enough about the weather. As far as plans for the day well I sound like a fuckin' broken record to be blunt. We have to do more organization of the baby room and hopefully get it cleared out the rest of the way early enough today that we can vacuum then I can start to build the crib and make it look more like a nursery instead of something a art-bomb went off in.

The room that is now shared by Cicely and I does not look much better. Most of what has been taken out of the original studio Cicely designs in is now all over the place in what use to be my geek room. The plan was to pack, label and organize as she cleared stuff out. Problem is, she has SO MUCH stuff that it would take months to do.

I just have to be more patient and let the pieces fall into place. But with several other projects on the list that I want to do I keep feeling like I can't start them until this one has been finished. Otherwise it will be another big mess.

Garage

I am actually considering going down to Home Depot and getting one of the Husky brand 46" tool chests. It has a solid wood top, 9 drawers and is on casters so you can roll it around. I am thinking this might be a good way to get additional drawer and table space in the garage for a good price (it is on sale right now for $100 off or so).

The only real downside is that everything else in the garage is craftsman so it would not match. Does not seem like a big deal I know but it sorta is. I will have to think it over some more and then make a decision on it. I guess at the same time it would be a good idea to put that money into something else we need for baby as well. Most of our big purchases are done with the exception of the stroller and mattress so that is a great feeling.

It would be super helpful if we were still getting our gaming show and cash sharing bonuses at work. Now with the way the bonuses are structured it's not predictable at all if you will be getting one. Merit increases are kinda the same at the moment. So I just keep my head down and keep on doing the best job that I can and hope for the best. I am pretty lucky to be able to develop games for a living so I have to remind myself of that at times like this.

A paycheck every 2 weeks is more important to me than a single bonus, cash sharing or stock grant. But don't misunderstand, any or all of those would sure help out with a little one on the way!

Defrost

Pretty much it for today I suppose. It's pushing 10:30 AM so it's about time to get the pregnant woman out of bed or she will stay there all day trust me! I try to not give her any shxt about it though because I have no idea how much it wears your body out.

We are not going down to Carson to visit mom because if the snow. The roads are probably ok by now but when we go it's pretty much an all day thing. It's 2 hours of driving round trip along with 2 to 4 hours of visiting. Not only does it use up the entire day it really wears us out for some reason.

Anyway enough rabble rabble out of me for one entry. Have a great Sunday whatever you are doing and try to stay inside and warm if possible!
