Lazy 1, Progress 0

It's already Sunday and the weekend is turning the page to the last few hours of the time away from work. It has been a nice day but we have not managed to get much done in the baby room as planned. I am not sure what the hold up is with us mentally other than the fact that we have so much to do that it is overwhelming us.

Not a good excuse I know. Plus I am not the type to make any excuses for things that need to get done like this. I am more of a roll up my sleeves and kick as much ass as I can until the project is either done or there are no more hours in the day to continue. Can't beat myself up over it though, we still have several months before baby is here. I just want to get as much done as we can before Cicely's mom comes to stay with us for a few days after Christmas.

Coffee With A Friend

Cicely has been gone most of the day. She went downtown to meet a friend at the coffee shop that she likes to go to when she meets clients and people that she is planning to work with. It must have went pretty good today because she was only planning to be gone for a couple hours and the next thing I knew 5 hours had gone by and she was just wrapping up conversation with friends.

I know she feels bad for not being here and helping get stuff ready for the baby room like I would like us to be doing but honestly she needs some time away from home and me once in a while. You have to have that time to clear your brain and get some new stimulation other than what she would be getting here at home doing stuff.

Not to mention the more contacts she makes and the more events she is invited to the more chances of success she will have with her jewelry and accessory lines. For me if she has a hobby with it or she has a big business with it that consumes her and she is happy then I am happy.

New Laptop

So I have not set up the new Toshiba laptop that I bought yesterday while we were down in Carson visiting mom. It's kinda funny that all of the laptops I was interested in were not available at any stores in a 50+ mile radius other than at the Carson City store. So as luck would have it we were down there and stopped to check them out and ended up getting a really good deal on one that will work perfectly for quite a while. We will not use it daily like I do with my MacBook Pro and related.

It was purchased to use as the dedicated machine that will run our 3D printers (well we have one for now but plan to get more). I will also be able to use it for updating my receiver on my helicopters and quad copters. I considered as mentioned yesterday getting a version of Windows 7 or 8/8.1 for my Mac and then simply run software to swap to that when needed etc. I have seen it work on coworkers computers but if it started blazing my fan full speed all the time and running down other processes then it would piss me off and I would end up spending the money anyhow on something.

This way I can simply buy new MacBook Pro laptops or the MacBook Air laptops when ever I choose and don't have to worry about screwing with an additional install of Windows. Plus worry about dealing with all of the normal Windows issues that happen. Oh and the new laptop has a touch screen as well. I always thought that was kinda hokey and unnecessary until I messed with one that had a touchscreen on it yesterday and it was actually really cool for what I will need it to do.

Anyway, I think that is about enough rabbling about the new toy. I don't have a whole lot else to rabble about today so I am going to have to wrap it up or I will continue to rabble about this or that to fill up some white space in today's entry.

Melting

It's warmer out today which is nice. The massive chunks of ice hanging down off of the roof as well as the puddles that freeze up and nearly make you fall flat on your ass when you forget they are there are nearly gone. I hope the warm days hang around for a few more so that it will clear out the gutters and get things back to normal. It's actually the first year in over 12 years that this has happened. Normally we just get a lot of snow, it melts and that is that until the next storm shows up.

Anyway, time for me to start getting "something" done. I think I will look online to see if there is any indication as to why one of my cigarette lighter ports went out in my car. I was trying to charge my iPhone yesterday and it was not working. I am hoping it is just a fuse but if not I will have to have the guys at the shop take a look at it the next time I have it in for service I guess.

Thankfully there are 2 there in the front or I would have to figure something else out. We use them all the time to keep all of our friggin' devices going so when one is down it kinda sucks. I will look into it and see what I can come up with. If nothing, I will throw in the towel and come in and build the bassinet that has been sitting on the floor waiting for me to do so.

Oggy is laying on my legs snoring while taking a nap and I think he has the right idea about now. I would like to join him and do the same but I cant, I gotta get something done. I have been up since 5:00 AM and only accomplished a little which is a lot less than I wanted to. I hope you had a great weekend and are getting ready for the week ahead. Not too much longer and the Christmas holiday will be upon us. I am looking forward to having some time off but at the same time I get a little stressed out around this time of year as well. Just have to take it in stride right?

Photo: There is quite a bit of snow hanging out on the front lawn. Across the street they have little to none left because they get all the sun that we don't. C'mon sun melt more of this shxt off our house! In the photo it looks like they still have quite a bit but a few hours after I took this you can see their lawn and everything. Ours has only gotten "crunchy" on the top.
