Fuzzy Checkup

So we are off work again today but even so it does not mean that we will be escaping work related things at home that need to be taken care of. No matter it's still very nice being off work and much nicer getting things like this done when we don't have anywhere that we "have to be".

Checkup

First on the list is taking Oggy to the vet for his checkup appointment and to get a couple vaccinations that are due in just a week or two. We figured that we would get it all ya ken care of now while we are off work. Otherwise we have to keep him there for observation and it's an addition $30 or so extra on top of the visit. This means we don't get out the door for less than $150.

This visit we have to have the doc look at a strange spot he has developed in his right eye. I have been kinda freaking out about it to be honest. We worry about him since he is our first born. We read that it is really common so hopefully it's just something that we need to keep an eye on each visit here on out.

Update: Okay so the visit went good for Oggy and he was a very good patient as he always is. The crappy part is that he got poked in about every area imaginable. Poor little guy had everything from his eyes checked to his temperature taken from his butt and just when he thought he was done he had to have blood drawn so they could do a full blood panel on him. They needed to get a urine sample but were not able to while we were there so they had a sleeve with a cup. So rather than chase him around the yard this weekend to get a urine sample, when we left we told him to go pee-pee.

Well what do you know? Oggy immediately found a bush that he liked and lifted his little leg to go pee. Right when he lifted Cicely stuck the cup under him and got a perfect amount for a urine sample for the doctor. He is such a good boy! I think the doctor was pretty surprised and even a little impressed when we walked back in so soon with a cup of urine for the test, LOL.

Anyway, hopefully everything comes back as it should and they tell us that everything is okay with our little guy. The doctor did notice another little bump on the back of his right leg that they are not sure what it is. The doctors guess is that it's probably only some sort of a mole or something like that. So they want us to keep an eye on it in case we have to have it removed at some point or if it starts to bother him. No big deal and not something we need to worry about.

The Mall

Once we were done and the fuzzy kid was all checked-out and vaccinated we had to run to the mall to get calendars, "fun". Kinda strange I know but because they have a kiosk that sells only calendars once it becomes late December they want to move as much product as possible before the 1st of the year. Because of this usually everything goes on sale big time. With all of the bargain shopping lately I sure sound like a bargain Betty!

Okay, the mall was a bust and we ended up just getting one of the 2 calendars we need at Target and pain only a dollar for it! How flippin' awesome is that? I'll tell you - extra mega super awesome! Now I will have to go online and find one for myself to use at the studio. For some reason they did not buy them this year. I actually think it's because they laid off the lady that use to get all of our supplies. The lady in her place does not do a very good job to be blunt. Hopefully they find someone good to help her out.

Family

Once the mall stop is taken care if it's over to Target to get a gift for Cicely's mom. Her mom will be landing in Reno tonight around 11:00 PM on Alaska Airlines. She will be visiting and staying with us instead of a hotel until the New Year.

We have not seen her in 4 or 5 years! Plus the last time we did it was only for a few hours while we were in L.A. for one of Cicely's jewelry and fashion shows. We stayed as long as we could but needed to get back to the hotel and get a good nights sleep to prepare ourselves for the 9 hour drive home.

This visit she will be staying with us as I mentioned so there will be plenty of time to catch up and for her to see Cicely's baby belly and start to prepare to be a grandma 2 or 3 months from now.

Once Born

Once baby is here both Cicely's mom and her sister are supposed to come out and stay for a few days. I think we may have to keep them separated if they come at the same time though ha ha. It's kinda funny too because we will have her mom coming from the west coast, California and sister coming from the east coast, Florida.

It will be nice to see everyone then as well plus it will give Cicely a little help with the baby when she really needs it. We have not seen her sister since we stopped for dinner in Florida when we were on our way to the Caribbean last year in November.

Chillax

That will do it for today. I managed to get a lot done yesterday so I fell pretty good about my progress. I unpacked and set up the pack n' play, unpacked and set up my new air compressor, touched up areas in the baby room with speckle and paint. Built a nice little rack to go in the garage by the safe to use for storing water, beer, soda and whatever else on instead of all over the house and kitchen or on the floor of the garage.

Once done I had to breakdown all of the cardboard and Styrofoam which is getting old. After doing all of it for the crib packaging I am burnt out breaking that shxt down. I need to get over it though, I still have the dresser that will probably be packed like the crib, the bassinet, stroller, high chair, Tommee Tippee and a slew of other stuff we have not even bought yet. Ahh, and to think that the magic of parenthood has only just begun.

Ba-Ba-Ba Baaaad

Time to be bad now! We are starving so we are going to try and make it in time for McDonald's breakfast. If not then we will have to just get our usual snack wrap, nuggets and fillet o' fish. Yea Cicely loves to have the fillet and nuggets. Baby is probably just loving that.

Photo: Super foggy and cold this morning. Add a thick layer of frost on the car windows that was tough to scrape off and I was frozen, Brr!
