Snow Day

Not a whole heck of a lot going on today I am sorry to say. I will have to scrape the bottom of the jar to come up with something to fill up a little of the white space in this entry. Usually there is something going on whether big, little or same old same old.

White Stuff

So Cicely woke up around 3:00 AM to go to the bathroom, something she does a LOT now that she is pregnant. Anyway, while up she took a peak outside and it was snowing pretty hard and accumulating quickly because the ground was so cold from the lack of sun Friday.

All said and done we ended up with about 6"-8" of new snow on the ground down here in the valley. I guess they had a couple feet of snow up in the hills and in the higher elevations around the valley. For me this meant going outside and doing the shoveling thing while trying to not slip and fall on my ass or worse hurt my back like so many do this time of year.

I waited until nearly 2:30 in the afternoon to go out because the snow was supposed to start up again around noon according to the weather guessers - as usual, they guessed wrong and there was little more than a soft drizzle of snow coming down by 2:00 PM. No new coverage because the ground was already too warm for it.

I kinda wish that I would have shoveled earlier like my neighbors did and like I normally would because it would have dried up nice - oh well, it's done. I did not get to use the snow blower but prolly could have I suppose. I just figured it was not deep enough for it and by the time I was half way through it was sort of a wash to then pull the blower out of the shed.

Once done I did grab the snow blower out of the shed and put the lawnmower into the shed. Basically the warm to cold season swap out. So the next time we get some snow and it's deep enough for the blower it will be ready to go which is nice.

Mall

Stopped by the mall last night after work and holy shxt do I hate the mall. I don't know if it's because I am getting older or if it's because the fucking kids are getting stupider. I honestly think its the fact that the kids are getting stupider, no really. I wont go into the details but I sincerely hope that we are able to raise baby so that she is not like that and the mall or certain TV stars are her life - such a waste.

Anyway while there I could not help myself from being magnetically attracted to Sears. Its pretty normal and probably just a "guy thing" because of the tools. I did not leave empty handed either, I rarely do when I go there actually. I did not get much, just some nice cold weather work gloves that are made my Craftsman, a pack of these new grippy things that you can put under items you are working on that would otherwise slide around. Kinda hard to explain exactly what they are, but I think they will be a great addition to the tool box.

I also picked up a scraper that is used for the icy areas when you shovel the driveway and walkways. Last but not least I bought Cicely and I one of these carts that is like a normal 2 wheeled dolly but it folds up nice and small and flat so it's easy to store. All-in-all a great trip to the mall because we were able to get things we did not even realize we needed. I used almost all of it today and am happy to report that it all performed flawless and therefor was money well spent.

Otherwise

Other than that today was spent in the house enjoying coffee for me and tea for Cicely. It was really nice to sorta chill and not really do anything. She did get some stuff done in the baby room which seems to be taking for EVER to get cleared out. I am very anxious to get the crib built and to start setting up the room. We will have the dresser soon and the bassinet should be here in the next week or so. We need to get our asses in gear and get it done, there is no excuse but at the same time there is no real reason to rush - I know, I know!

I hope your Saturday was a great one and you either had some time with family and friends or spent some much needed time around the house resting up after a hard work week. I plan to do more of the later the remainder of the evening and maybe even tomorrow. I have several projects I want to get started on such-as building my 3D printer, building my new bad ass quad copter and a slew of other stuff without even mentioning the baby stuff. Ahh too much to worry about now, it will all come together in due time. Have a great rest of your Saturday!

Photo: Forgot to take a photo of the snow before shoveling so instead here is a gun toting American photo for today with some general facts.
