Screwed

When we got home after work last night I looked over at my car and it looked a little weird the way it was sitting. Upon closer inspection my drivers side rear tire was flat and had a big chunk of metal in it - well that sux!

So I immediately got online and setup an appointment with Tires Plus out by our house for 9:00 this morning. We arrived and whatta you know, something went wrong and they were booked solid and my appointment was overridden with someone else's.

Cicely got on the phone and gave Discount tire a call and was told "no problem come on over. Sweet, they are only a minute or two from where we were so off we went.

They greeted us immediately, got a little information and had us back on the road in under 15 minutes. Free of charge too no less.

Even if it was not free I would honestly say the exact same thing. The guys working there were totally on their game and seemed to be that way with every customer that came through their door.

For me this is awesome to see. So many businesses have managed to lose this seemingly small although huge part of running a business. Partially furled to the employees I realize, but a lack of training on customer service is the fault of a company or corporation. It also goes all the way back to the hiring process.

I help to hire at my studio and you quickly find that you can train people to do most any task efficiently but its nearly impossible to teach someone personality and solid work ethics without being within a militant environment.

So huge kudos to Discount tire and thank you for your work today, friendly service and attention to detail. I don't want any more tire issues anytime soon but if they happen, Discount Tire will be who I recommend and go to myself for my tire, and related needs!

By-the-way, the big ass chunk of metal ended up being this big screw. Not sure where I picked that up at? Several years of pulling trailers, driving off road to the race tracks and only one flat in 9+ years. Figures I would get one now, I guess that I was due for one huh?

Empty

Back out into the garage for this kid for the next 5 hours or so. I took it pretty easy most of the day because I was really tired from the week. Hopefully I can make some good progress and either get close to being done or better yet, be done with the painting project.

I hope that your projects, day at the beach or whatever you are doing is going as planned for a Saturday. It's super hot outside here so I am doing what I can to stay cool and relax.
