Super early start to the morning for us today because of a meeting that I have to get into work for. Usually this one is held later in the day on Wednesdays but due to scheduling conflicts we had to have it this morning.
Even though I am usually up and out of bed by 6:00 AM, I like to screw around on the iPad, check my mail, get shxt done and sorta slide smoothly into my days. Otherwise on days like today I feel ruses the entire day, not to mention my mental schedule is outta whack so the day feels as though it drags on for a small eternity. Boo-hoo, I know!
Progress
So I made a good amount of progress on the garage project yesterday and am hoping to wrap it up this coming week / weekend if all goes as planned. Cicely has several of her fashion shows this weekend and I may try to attend at least one of them since I will know where it actually is at. The others are sorta spread out all over town and more of a "flash mob" appearance.
TV
As expected Dexter was great last night and had several "oh shxt" moments throughout. His sister Deb is really going downhill and even managed to get so f'd up on booze that she confessed to the killing of Sgt. LaGuerta at the end of last season. Luckily she was intercepted by Quinn who believed he was protecting her dignity and called Dexter for help and to come get her.
I won't say anymore as this paragraph is already filled with spoilers, it was awesome! Looking forward to next weeks episode.
The Morgan Spurlock show was a good one as well that really brought things to light about immigrant workers in Florida, particularly those that pick oranges.
I was blown away by the amount of fruit they need to pick on a daily basis to make a decent amount of money, well decent amount to them for that job. Basically it works out to $95 or so per day if they can manage to do the average of 6 full tubs of oranges.
The workers get a Visa to come work in the US for the summer. They leave their families, live in housing with other workers and send money home on payday, keeping only enough to get a few extra things, do laundry and so on. Pretty rough life, but still better than the opportunities in Mexico.
I also learned that orange trees have thorns! Thorns, WTF I had no idea but I guess it makes sense to keep the birds off of the trees, from eating the fruit which translates into lost profits.
Juiced
That will do it for today. Have to jump back into it and move on with the day. Lot's of stuff on the menu so it's time to start checking things off today's list and get moving on with the day!
Hoping your day treats you well!
