Flight Report
So I am happy to report that I was in fact able to fly 2 full battery packs and the weather was perfect for it. It was a little on the hot side for that early in the morning (close to 80 degrees out) but seeings how the day is suppose to hit a high of 104 degrees I would not expect much less.
My second battery was actually the best of the 2. I was able to manage some very controlled, low level flight without the need for a ton of big corrections. The first battery started out that way, although I decided to do a nose in hover / practice for a minute or so and things usually go bad when I get brave like that. The heli shot to the left, my right, and I over corrected the wrong way which simply makes it continue the wrong way, up and over the neighbors house. Luckily I was able to get it back over my yard and kill the motor and bring it down in the grass - whew!
Its not that I cant do the nose-in hover, but because I am still a novice it's super easy to get backwards in your mind and correct the incorrect way. Because I need to dodge trees, homes, fences, lattice and what ever else I have to be on my toes. So the slightest error becomes something much more drastic with a higher risk for a bad outcome. Lucky for me, I was able to fly that second pack as mentioned and consider it a very successful morning flight!
Weather
As mentioned it's another hot day outside and will easily hit the predicted 104 degrees. I have a feeling that just as it did yesterday, we will probably get some crazy thunderstorms around late afternoon just in time for everyone's commute home. We generally stay at work later anyhow so we can look out the window of the studio and enjoy it before heading home. Maybe its from growing up in the mid-west, but I really like afternoon thunderstorms during summer.
Fizzle
So that will do it for today. Tomorrow is our Friday and then off to a nice 4 day weekend. I have my painting project ahead of me so I am both looking forward to it as well as dreading it. Friday we take the fuzzy kid to the vet to get a tune-up on certain vaccines and refill his heartguard medicine. So that will all help to keep us busy. My only request is that the days do not fly-by!
We do have a taco bar lunch tomorrow here at work, so I am wondering if they are possibly planning on feeding us then an hour or so after telling us to go home? Does not always happen but it's sweet like candy when it does - I wont complain if so! Until tomorrow, have a good one!
Photo: Must be getting ready to rain or already has started to. Received this Emergency Alert pop-up on my phone this afternoon.
Photo 2: Then a little later another warning about dust storms. This one scared the shxt out of me because I was concentrating on something when it went off ha ha.
