Showing up to work a little later than usual today. Not entirely by choice but because we have to drop Cicely's Soul off at the dealership for some work to be done.
I guess they found something wrong with the steering pin and there is a chance that it could eventually wear thin and sheer off and the driver would lose control of the steering at that time. Yea does not sound like a ride through the park now does it?
More than likely it's few and far between that this would happen but it's good when manufacturers are on top of stuff rather than waiting for it to be a bigger issue. I can't imagine that recalls are the most favorite thing to do. It can lower consumer confidence at times and is expensive for them to do the repairs on all of the affected vehicles.
At the same time all of this summed up is still 100x cheaper than one individual getting into an accident because of the steering issue and suing for millions of dollars and who knows what else. If there is medical involved it would only escalate from there. Something no corporation wants to have to deal with, especially this particular auto-maker. They have had some bad press in the past that really hurt them and since have turned over a new leaf and are awesome. I am sure starting that process over would not be something they would look forward to doing.
Gym
I was able to make it down to the gym yesterday which was nice. I have missed several days because of being out on DTO or because of too much work that needed to be done, meetings, etc. It has been quiet down there the past few weeks as well off and on. I am not sure if that is because it's the end of summer and people are "over it" with regards to being fit and healthy or what. I know most if not all will be back again, as usual before the holidays, for New Year resolutions and then again once the weather starts turning back into spring again.
That time of the year is painful for me as well as the rest of us that are regulars at the gym. Those "resolutionars" as I call them do nothing more than get in the way for a couple weeks until they give up. I have rarely seen more than maybe 1 or 2% actually continue to go for more than 3-6 month and rarely if ever longer.

I was not able to get on my favorite elliptical machine though which sucked ass. When I got to the gym the machines were all available but by the time I changed my favorite was taken by this chick that I always seem to compete with to get it. Thankfully she usually comes down about an hour after I do so it works out. But someday s, like yesterday, we are there at the same time and its a race to see who can change into their workout clothes and get out there the fastest. I had no idea she was already there since the gym was empty when I arrived so I did not rush. When I walked out the men's locker room door there she was, elliptical-ling away - dam!
Not Much Else
Not a whole lot else going on today otherwise. Tomorrow we have our studio picnic and will be off work for a half day to attend that which will be nice. We have some really good raffle prizes and there should be good BBQ and snacks to enjoy as well. I am not sure if we will get booze this time or not though. Last time we had beer available.
Even so I plan to not have anything to drink other than water or maybe a soda. I would like to go for a ride when we get home and beer is the last thing I want in my system. I have a difficult enough time working on my performance and getting up some of those hills faster.

Photo: Another water bottle to add to my arsenal. Eventually they all fail or just plain suck from the start. Guess we will see how long this one lasts. Not a big fan of the straw think on it though. My last one was pretty nice but the stupid seal around the top eventually does not do it's one and only job very well - seal the top - and so it leaks all over you when you try to drink.
So annoying and I think that one was around $30 plus the cost of a filter which I think is another $8 or so. This one has a charcoal filter in it but I dunno if I will keep it in there if I end up not using the straw all of the time what's the point? The water here at work sucks and bothers my stomach at times so I have had better luck when I filter the filtered water. Guess time will tell once again.
