Thankfully we do not have a set schedule that requires us to show up at exactly a specific time, unless we have meetings or other obligations to attend to. Then we do need to be there, on time and ready to kick some ass.
Night Ride
Last night I was able to go for a nice bike ride around 7 PM. The days of doing those is growing thin though. In a few more weeks it's going to be getting dark even earlier and my rides, if I take them then, will be completely in the dark. Not something that I really want to do honestly but will if necessary.
We called about the bike trainer that I want to buy but no shops have them in-stock locally so I would have to go through the distributor directly or another shop to get it. That would be fine, I just worry having a $1200 item sitting at the doorstep one day until we got home. Generally things are 100% safe and we have never run into a problem with theft but chances on something like that I don't want to take and have a lessons learned moment at that expense.
Anyway the ride was really nice, ended up just over 13 miles which is not bad for an after work evening session. I was a little weak for some reason and especially while climbing. Not sure if it's my body recovering from the weekends long rides or if it should just be chalked up to one of those "bonk" type days?
Ribs
Well today is the kickoff day for the best in the west Reno rib cook off. Not really sure if we are going or not this year but if we do I know what I'm getting; rib, cornbread, beans and barbecue corn in the husk with butter.
I guess time will tell if we decide to go or not. It's usually not something we go to and hang out all day like many people we know do. As I have probably mentioned in the past we generally go down and take bags with us to carry the foods we buy from each vendor. Then carry it all back to the car and take it home to eat in in the peace and quiet of home with the air conditioner cranked up!
For Now
That will do it for today. I am finishing this up a little later than usual and it's getting close to the conference I have to go to this afternoon. Time to finish up my sandwich for lunch, guzzle down some water and call it good. I will probably have to skip the gym here at work today because of the talks that are happening at that time but if they get out at a decent time and I am up to it I may just try to squeeze in a little elliptical session at the very least!

Photo: New skateboard deck that showed up last night. Well it was there from earlier in the day of course but I did not actually get it until after work. OK fine, it showed up early afternoon there are you happy? :) Either way, I think that it's pretty dam awesome!
