Well whatta you know, while I was out on my evening bike ride, Cicely managed to get a great video of Zoey rolling over all by herself - Woooo hoooo! I am so happy for her and proud that she is able to do that now. She can only roll to her right side and onto her belly, the left side is a little awkward for her and she does not quite have the coordination for it yet.
She looks so dam cute when she does it too. She basically gets on her side as far as she can, tucks her arms and positions her legs just right. Next she does a little momentum kick with her top leg which gives her just enough momentum to get over and onto her belly, almost in slow-motion.
So awesome baby girl, we are so proud of you and love watching you learn these new things. They seem so small and they are things that we don't even think about being able to do but watching you do them for the first time is like we are experiencing them for the first time as well. Thank you for that sweetheart! Next you will be scooting and then crawling, then eventually walking. That is really scary for your mom and I, it's hard enough to keep up with you now, but we will figure out a way!
Too Crappy For Tahoe
OK, so the plan for today was to get up and get ready as usual, but rather than hurry out the door and get Zoey to daycare and Cicely and I to the game studio we wanted to take the day off and head up to the lake and enjoy the last days of summer we have left.
Initially our plan was to take Zoey to daycare and make it a mommy and daddy day up at the lake. Possibly rent some stand up paddle boards, hand out on the beach and have a nice beach picnic style lunch that we would bring along. Well yesterday afternoon I decided to talk to Cicely and determine if we wanted to say hell with it and just take Zoey with us. I figured that it would be a lot of fun and how many times would we really be able to take her to the sandy beach at this age and on a weekday when school is in and there would not be as may people up there.
So obviously she wanted to do the same and agreed with me with nothing but excitement in her voice and expression - cool, this is going to be so much fun I cant wait! Fast forward to this morning and as I was feeding her the morning breakfast bottle I could see the plants and grass whipping around through the spaces between the wooden horizontal window blinds. Hmm, probably just a morning breeze I thought, but in reality my inner, more pragmatic and realistic brain function kicked in and told me it was only going to get worse.
Well what do you know, fast forward once again all the way to noon and the wind is blowing so friggin' hard that it would be miserable to walk very far in it much less try to relax on the beach. Not the kind of day that either one of us had been looking forward to - sucks!
So it looks like today will be a bit of a wash. We will probably just hang out at home, or possibly drive out to the lake that is near home - Pyramid lake, and let Zoey play a little. I just don't care for that lake as much when it comes to hanging out because there really are no good beaches to speak of for Zoey to play like she could up at Tahoe. Dunno, we will see, maybe we will wait and see what the weather brings us tomorrow and go from there.
No Matter
It's still a day off work with the family and that is great! Bad weather or not it's nice to be home with both Cicely and Zoey hanging out. Oggy is use to use being gone so it does mess his schedule up a little bit I think but he enjoys us here and we like spending time with him as well.
Looking forward to what tomorrow has in store for us. The weather had and still does not have any mention of the wind today. I am not surprised, most of the weather guessers would not be able to tell you that it was raining out side if they walked into the office wet.
Okay, I wont get on that soapbox today - it's far too easy to do so! I am sealing this entry up for the day and moving on to other things, have a great Wednesday!
Photo: My new fi'zi:k saddle showed up today and I am excited to try it out. I sure hope my ass appreciated it, these are not inexpensive saddles! It's the Aliante VSX model and the "Bull" model. They rate them as "snake", "chameleon" and "bull" as a flexibility scale of the riders back and body. I may be closer to a "chameleon" but think "bull" was the best choice since my flexibility changes.
