Exhaustion & Mob's Of Fashion

Yesterday went by really fast for some reason. It was a smooth day as well, no drama or crazy problems that put the day into some sort of a wild tail-spin which is a good thing. At times that is the flip-side of a fast work day. It was not without it's challenges of course, there were some that were left unresolved after 5:00 and will be for most of the day today. That is nothing more than "business" though and something that you have to roll with and tackle the next day - today in my case.

Heavy Eyes

So I made it home a little before 7 last night and felt pretty good. It was really windy out as the weather guessers had predicted so I was not going to go for a ride immediately. Hindsight it's probably a really good thing that I did not go at all. I was tired, really tired and it hit me after sitting on the couch relaxing for only a few minutes - 15 max, surfing around the internet. It was all I could do to keep my head from bobbing and my eyes shutting on their own.

I am not sure if this is a combination of work having a lot going on this week, but it's much less than in previous weeks so I would not think that is the case. Maybe I have been overdoing it with my workouts in the afternoon and then the bike rides at night, then long ones on the weekends? I honestly have no idea but I do know that my plan was to lay down for 20 minutes, 30 max, and have Cicely wake me up so I could decided whether I was going to go for a quick ride, get on the treadmill for a little while and put in some miles or skip it all together for the night.

In the end I remember her waking me up, telling me that it was 20 minutes that I had been laying down and then waking me up again around 30 minutes. I did little to nothing but slightly acknowledge that she was there trying and closed my eyes and drifted back off. Finally I woke up, the house was dark and she was in the garage working on projects for tonight's big Fash Mob. Zoey was asleep on the couch as well and Oggy was snuggled up between us both in his own little comfy spot.

When I got up, went in and took a leak and walked out to the kitchen I looked at the clock and was surprised to see that in the blink of an eye - or the closure of two, that I had taken a "quick nap" that lasted over 2 hours. It was now after 9:30 and I was just waking up. There was no wind outside by this time, do I go for a ride? No, just kidding - although the thought did cross my mind - it's just the way that I am wired I guess.

The nap was good and I hoped that I would feel better today and while my body might be rested more than I realize, I did sleep another 7 or 8 hours (which means I woke up late this morning) and I still feel like I could use more sleep. I am not one to sleep a ton, I always feel like I am wasting my life just laying on a couch or in bed, so it's rare I sleep that much. Today I do still feel tired, not as bad but my eyes are still a little heavy even after all of that.

Mob

So tonight Cicely and a ton of other designers will be doing the annual Fash Mob again. Driving around the Reno / Sparks area, hopping out of vans, cars and everything in between to line up and do a runway fashion show anywhere and everywhere at the spur of the moment. Last years went over without a hitch and everyone had a good time. Both those that were involved in the mob as well as those that were there watching a show that they did not expect to be seeing while at the DMV, waiting in traffic on a busy downtown street and so on.

This means I will be picking up Zoey from daycare today and it will be a daddy and daughter night tonight at home. I like nights like that because we have time to be goofy and play with just her, me and Oggy. Not that we don't do that or cant do that when Cicely is here - we can and do, but it's just kinda neat to be just her and I once in a while. Babies look for mom much more often than they look for dad for obvious and not so obvious reasons and that is OK. Times like this though, dad gets all of the attention and time and it's awesome!

Proceed

OK that will do it for today's entry. Back to the studio to get things done and see how the rest of the week pans out and what is in store for me. I hope that your week has been a success and that you roll nicely into the weekend.

My hope is to go for a 30-50 mile road bike ride on the south side of town. It just requires me getting ass out of bed early and to the starting location. We will see how it goes!
