As of 4:00 this morning our day is already well underway and we are on our first flight from Reno to Dallas, Texas. I honestly don't remember the last time we were up this early, crazy huh!
We had to run around a bunch last night and did not get home and packed until 11:30, in bed about midnight, asleep around 12:15. Those measly 4 hours of sleep are going to hit us pretty hard later today. No sweat, maybe I can sleep on the plane for once even if its liquor induced. I don't wanna fall asleep if we go out to dinner with Cicely's sister Jessenia tonight. Normally plane or car sleep is a no-go for me so we will see.
In Reno we checked our bags and came in well under weight so there was no additional charges (whew), only the $50 we were expecting to have to pay, still a joke if you ask me.
Airlines have had to carry luggage and related since the first passenger planes started running. To add this additional fee is only another way to nickel and dime everyone. Then to make us feel relieved once we get through the TSA B.S. and onto the plane we are offered the plastic ice filled cup with a dribble of soda, juice or water. Peanuts or snacks are things of the past also anymore as well for the most part.
Once on the plane, the seats my step-mom Cyndi got us were awesome because we didn't have anyone behind us kicking our seat backs. They are smaller than the airplane from San Francisco to Miami when we went to St. Lucia non-stop but comfortable enough for a 3 hour flight.
Our plane has advertised in flight wifi (gogoflight network) and I am on it right now but I don't know if I actually have access or not. It seems really slow if I am on it and my applications keep pinging the servers so I may have to give up on it at some point so I don't kill my battery. I tried playing a word with my dad on Words With Friends but it never sent so its prolly not actually on the network, only connected to its ID..
Once in Dallas we checked and there were no upgrades to first class, dam! Oh well saves us some money I guess.
I should mention I actually ate breakfast for once. I had a pretty good egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich from Peets Coffee and a cup of coffee as well which I ended up tossing out because I was already too full from the sandwich. I have a coconut water I will drink once we are chillin' at our next stop so I am sure to stay nice and hydrated.
On our first flight this morning, looking out the window all I could see were clouds and I dig it. When my head is in the clouds I am always the clearest. I love that feeling of clarity!
Maybe I was a bird in a past life? Hopefully an eagle or something bad-ass rather than a pigeon for example! Yea they have a purpose too and deserve their time, just not how I see me ha ha.
