It's 6:20 in the morning and we are backing into port, getting ready to get off the ship in about 1 hour and 20 minutes, boo!
Super excited to see Oggy tonight but sad about heading to cold weather, snow and the daily grind in Reno. I hope Oggy remembers who we are, this is the longest he has ever been away from us both, and us him. I hope he did not pick up any bad habits at grandmas house this past week.
8:40; We are off the Ruby Princess and going through customs only took about 15 minutes.
Through security and outside to look for our bus ride to the airport. Found the bus in seconds, cool.
On the bus and on our way to the airport which is a 10 minute ride or so.
Arrived at the airport, found our gate and through the TSA security b.s. in under 20 minutes which says a lot based on the massive crowds. Of course I was pulled out of line to go through the scanner, fuckers, just what I need is more radiation. Ok time to find some food.
Found breakfast at the Fresh Italian Kitchen. I was tempted by the breakfast pizza but decided to share eggs, bacon, country potatoes and toast with Cizzle.
Now we wait for our flight, American Airlines flight 1515 Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Dallas, Texas. We have just under a 5 hour wait so its time for Words with Friends with Gabe and dad for a few hours.
Overall I have to say getting off the ship was a total breeze! I am so happy I decided to have us use the EZ-Check, let's just hope our luggage arrives as expected in Reno.
Update: Ok so I lied, the 5 hour layover feels like forever for some reason. I have had much longer layovers but this one feels like its moving like molasses. 1 hour and 40 minutes to go. It does not help that it feels like the ship is still moving. Only negative so far is horrible heartburn from the crappy sandwich we bought in the airport. Oh and the guys horrid breath behind me. Fuck it stinks and he is a mouth breather of course. Blah making me nauseous.
Next stop Dallas....
Ok on board and in flight to Dallas right now which means I am typing this paragraph, listening to Pandora and playing Words with Friends 10,000 feet up in the air. Not going to lie, I am loving every minute of it!
Next stop Reno, Nevada; Home
Ok it's 6:42 Dallas time which means that it's 4:42 in Reno. Our flight was a little delayed so we are rushing around to get some food (TGI Fridays was our only choice so we had salads), call dad, call mom and relax for a minute and charge our devices up as much as possible in 20 minutes. I bought some Pepto here in Dallas so that should help with my heartburn weirdness. I am eating mine on the plane I think, need to give the pepto time to work. Not sure if I have wifi on this one, ugh. No wifi this time for sure, dam! Gonna be a long flight, time to play Angry Birds "Star Wars" edition for a few hours and possibly this other cool game called "The Room".
3 hours 20 minutes later, we are in Reno! Home sweet home, 9:08 pacific time. 26 degrees brrr! I want the humid and 84 degrees back, oh and white sand beaches and drinks!
Dads picking us up then to moms to get Oggy, then officially home. It's been awesome and I can't wait 'till our next adventure to? Where Ever I Roam.
One more thing;
So I have to come clean about something I was bitching about on Monday or Tuesday. The guy that was playing the recorder, flute or whatever it was when ever we were at sea in spired me. My instrument has been the bass, I like its tone and its fun to play. I have to come clean and admit I ended up enjoying his playing and think I want to learn to play one. I know, it's not rock and roll craziness but its fun, cheap and fun to learn new stuff in general. Ok there, nothing big, just wanted to admit it after wondering "where he gets off assuming we all want to hear it" the first couple days at sea.
Thanks to his playing, I appreciate it now and almost looked forward to it at sea. I know it was putting Cicely to sleep daily. Guess I better check to see if Guitar Center sells them. If not I will order one online. Worst case I know how to put Cicely to sleep.
