Day 2 At Sea

Up early and ready in time to have a nice breakfast as planned, Woo-hoo! Yesterday we missed it because we decided to sleep-in, we needed it more than a good breakfast. I dig getting breakfast at buffets because I can get so many different items.

Today I had bacon, polish sausage piece, eggs, scoop of grits with brown sugar, slice of pineapple and honeydew, orange juice and coffee. It sounds like a ton of food I know, but really its not because I only get small scoops of each, enough for a bite or two. I am nice and full now.

Yesterday we played miniature golf at the "Princess Links" golf course which is located up on the top of the ship in the very back. It was a lot of fun and not just because I beat Cicely for a change but because it was a really nice day. Little windy but nice and warm with a little humidity.

After golf we walked around and did some more exploring of the ship. Checked out the basketball courts they have near the golf course and the running track as well. It's more of a walking path but cool none-the-less.

The first thing it made me think of is Oggy and how much fun it would be to take him for a walk everyday around it. Unfortunately there would not be any interesting stuff for him to sniff so he would get bored quickly.

Did a little shopping after checking out the night club just below the basketball court and golf course. I wanted to find a sweat shirt (gets a little colder than I thought it would in the evenings). I wanted the type that has the small zipper up top and a sort of high collar that comes up similar to a turtle neck. No-luck, they are all uni-sex and just not my thing.

I did find a magnet I wanted to get that looks like a cruise ship to match our Royal Caribbean one, and another one that shows all of the islands along the caribbean as well as the route we will be taking to get to the 3 we are stopping at.

I picked up a 3 pack of Swiss chocolates that are alcohol flavor injected. I mostly wanted them for the Jack Daniels chocolates so we will see how the others taste. The 2 Jack Daniels pieces I had last night while getting ready for dinner were really fucking good, although potent when the first dribbles of whiskey oozed into your mouth.

Our first formal dinner was last night and it was a lot of fun! Cicely looked so amazing in her sparkly dress, as she always does, and I think I looked pretty sharp in my 3 piece suit, all black and ready for business ha ha.

Dinner was wonderful as anticipated. I had all 4 courses as did Cicely, shxt man, I am going to gain 5 or 10 pounds on this vacation if I am not careful.

My meal consisted of Oysters for an appetizer, a cold corn soup for my soup/salad choice, steak with these awesome potato things that are about the size of a mini corn dog, ending the meal with a miniature eclair for dessert and when I say mini I mean mini, maybe 1/2" long at the most, I was too full for a full dessert.

Cicely had a deep fried sushi roll for an appetizer, salad for her soup/salad, pasta parmesan for her main course and this little cake ball for dessert.

We shared a bottle, yep the entire bottle, of Moscotto (spelled wrong I know) throughout dinner. I cant remember the name, something about a hen or crazy rooster. I am probably way off but it was excellent. We may have to get another tonight.

After breakfast we stopped by the photo area and picked out just under $100 worth of photos from dinner last night. They turned out great. Usually I dont like my photos but these turned out nice so I assume they touched them up a little so everyone looks good. We also bought one for my dad and step-mom Cyndi and plan to keep the rest for us, Maybe even hang them on the wall since we have zero pictures of us, well we have one that one of moms old boyfriends took a long time ago but its not that great of a photo to be honest. We bought one with us both in the shot and one each of us on our own.

As I type this, Cicely is in the room taking a nap after her nice big breakfast. I hope she does not get woken up. "Fluteman" as I am calling him until I can think of a better name, is on his balcony next door playing tunes once again. I still find it funny that he assumes we all want to listen to him. Its a little annoying at first but once you get use to it you sort of block it out and it becomes part of the backdrop with the ocean sounds. I will admit, it becomes more enjoyable than you would think even though he misses a note here and there.

I am going to really miss sitting out on the balcony typing little blurbs once we get back home. This has been great and very relaxing, and its only the second day!

We had to change our plans for scuba diving this time but in its place we are going to do a scenic drive up to St. Peter's where there is, what I hear to be described as "the most amazing view", we will also visit gardens and stuff like that. Normally we stray away from the mellow stuff and try something new like scuba but we will have to save that for next the next trip, no biggie we will have a great time.

After the 3 hour scenic tour we can get a taxi into town or check out somewhere for lunch. Then still have plenty of time to hit the beach if we want to get some Caribbean sunshine.

Our side of the ship gets shade most of the day so the only way we can get sun is to go up on the deck with all the people. It would be nice if we could lay out on the balcony and tan. Maybe on the way home we will be able to since our side which is the port side of the ship will get the sun most of the early part of the day.

One last thing, we had a crazy thunderstorm and rain last night during dinner. Everyone was looking out the windows as they ate because it seemed like there was someone outside taking some flash photography with a flash the size of the moon. Pretty decent amount of rain to go along with it, but it cleared up in a couple hours and did nothing more than add to our adventure, I like the rain a lot when I can just sit and enjoy it. We even heard a cricket one night which was cool, reminded us of home.

Photo: Panorama from my cabin. I got better at it as the trip went on, its tough on a moving ship.

Video: The ocean, mainly to record "Fluteman", don't get sea sick! You can just barely hear him, it was really hard to try and time it just right when he would play. At times he would play full songs for 5 or 10 minutes, other times he would play a little of this and a little of that, as-in this clip.
