Today has been a day of being plagued with network issues at work, waiting for our IT department to get everything up and running again. The day tends to go by at a snails pace when things that I can normally take care of in a micro-second takes 5 minutes or more to accomplish. Other things simply time-out which is even more annoying. I guess it's a good thing that my afternoon is once again filled with meetings. At least I will be able to accomplish something productive.
Free Lunch
Today our studio is being treated to lunch from a local pizza joint that goes by the name of Lamppost Pizza. I had originally signed up before I knew that it was Lamppost Pizza. Because it is that crap I am skipping and either having the food that I brought from home or I will run down to our on-site cafeteria and pick something up. Just because something is free does not mean you should eat it.
In the past we were provided lunch every Thursday from various places. Everything from sandwiches and pizza to full-on lasagne dinners, turkey dinners or "make your own" taco bars. Pizza has always been my least favorite along with lasagne day because it comes from the same shxtty place, Lamppost Pizza. I don't know what it is about Lamppost but the food makes me (and others) feel like total crap for the rest of the day and it's mediocre at best in the first place. Call me ungrateful, but I will take taco bar day any-day over that crap!
Frosty And Foggy
It's warmer this morning, around 19 degrees Fahrenheit and should be hitting a sweltering 40 degrees by this afternoon. Because of the change in weather and the melting snow we are experiencing an inversion. Inversions are cool because they create this awesome - thick fog, along with trees, grass, and everything in-between having a line of frost on 'em.
I wish my camera phone could have captured a better photo of the frost, I actually tried several times and the long wheat grass photo ended up showing it the best. It would have been cool to get more of the detail because the frost looks so friggin' cool lining everything. Heck, even the little nubs on the sidewall of my tires had a buildup of frost on them. Cool stuff!
Community Mailbox
I am happy to report that after all of my whining yesterday, brought on by several unsuccessful attempts at opening my community mailbox since Monday, I finally took possession of my packages when I arrived home from work last night. I still have no idea if the parcel boxes are fixed because my mail carrier was cool enough to leave my packages hidden in "my usual spot". Cicely usually gets 2 to 10 packages per week from all over the world so we will know sooner than later if the problem still exists. For now I am a happy that I was able to get my stuff so I can work on my AR.Drone modifications this weekend. Well, I can once I get the new TiVo Premiere 4 and Logitech Harmony Touch remote programmed.
Out
Enough excitement for today. Tomorrow is Friday and I am looking forward to a few days to regroup after a week that was unexpectedly and uncharacteristically slammed. Sure it makes the week fly-by but it also makes me lose track of the days as they tend to become one big blur.
