Brr! It's Cold Outside

Wow is it cold outside today! Even though the weather report is stating that it is a toasty 9 degrees, it feels a hell of a lot colder because of the dry air. Walking from the car to the studio this morning was one of those days where you feel as though your nose freezes with every inhale and you don't want to move any limbs because it releases some of the heat. I must be getting old!

First things first - I heard from my step-mom this morning that my pops went in for surgery and was out by 9:30 AM and resting in recovery. Everything went extremely well according to the surgeon and with zero issues on either arm. Woo-hoo! I am stoked to hear that and it made my day. He will have to watch how much weight he lifts and that sort of thing for a few weeks, then go in to see how it is all progressing and go from there. I am just happy it is over and I am sure he is as well!

Moonshiners

So last night there was nothing recorded on TiVo and I did not want to get into a show on Netflix since it was already 10:30 PM so I somehow managed to start watching this show called Moonshiners. Wow, I had no idea that people were still making this stuff and selling it. I guess it makes sense but I would be afraid to drink it. Learning all of the obstacles that they come up against when trying to make a batch as well as the solutions to get away with it is crazy.

I will say that it did not hold my interest for the entire episode because I was asleep on the couch within 35 minutes or so, so I don't think I will be watching it again any time soon. The funny part to me was that they have to put subtitles on the lower third throughout the show so those that cannot understand the moonshiners "unique" English and sentence formation can still enjoy the show and follow along each episode.

That is all for this entry, probably the shortest one to date - exciting for me! It is harder than I would have thought to post everyday and even harder to keep them short once I get typing. I have a habit of rambling away as anyone that has read a few of my entries knows very well. Anyway, until tomorrow, don't let Monday be the boss of you!
