Awesome Day

Once again I stayed up much later that I had intended to but figured it was Friday night so why the hell not, right? By the time it hit late afternoon the previous Thursday late night mixed in with last nights late night started catching up to me bit time. Oh well, I guess that is what Sunday mornings are for right?

FRINGE

Watched the series finale of FRINGE last night and I have to say that it was really good and they wrapped up pretty much everything that I had hoped they would. My only grumble would be that the series finale was not as crazy-bad-ass as I thought it would have been. In my opinion, changing time and basically eliminating an entire race could have been much more explosive and crazy-bad-ass. I guess I should be satisfied that they were able to set everything as it should be in their universe and get rid of the observers. Anyone that watched it last night surely understands what I am getting at.

I am saddened to see the show go, but I am ready to get on with other shows that we have been getting into lately. It seems that after a few years certain shows start to "reach" for good story lines. FRINGE never did this, but they did write this last season in a totally different manner in my opinion. It was suddenly no longer important to handle FRINGE events but rather get rid of the observers and related tasks. Ahh what do I know, that could be one-in-the-same I guess. Still good stuff and thanks for many great nights of TV FRINGE!

Charter Cable

Cable guy showed up at 9:15 today, we had an 8:00 appointment which of course in "cable speak" translates to "sometime between 8:00 and 10:00". The installer was great though, he came in - assessed the lines that we had available, went outside and updated the lines we had out there, came back inside and setup the outlet as we requested and even setup all of the other outlets in the house for us to save us the $10 fee down the road if we want needed to activate any of them, which we will for sure.

Once done he had me hook up the modem and test it. I am not going to lie, my fingers were crossed tight for luck - minute or so later and it made the handshake with the mother-ship and was working friggin' perfect. We then checked out the cable TV stream to be certain that he did not unintentionally mess anything up doing the upgrades outside along with the transferring of the output inside. Nope, cable TV worked fine, all channels displaying as we had hoped they would. Sweet!

Organization

Once the cable guy was done and had left I decided it was prime-time to finish binding all the cables in the niche and getting everything back to a more normal, organized state. I knew that if I sat down and started channel surfing that I would be there most of the day and get absolutely nothing accomplished. This somehow led to me looking for something in the closet of my office which led to me cleaning and organizing the entire thing from top to bottom! I had a couple stray items that were better suited for the hall closet, I had to move a few things around in there to accomplish this so guess what that led to? Yup, more organization and cleanup from bottom to top in that closet.

All-in-all it took about 4 hours total but it was well worth it. There is actually more that could be done, but I will save that for another day. Today was easy because it was not necessary, I just sorta went on auto-pilot and the next thing I knew it was 4 hours later and things were looking great. Because of all the cleanup I managed to get another big bag of stuff together to donate so we dropped it all off at Good Will. Hopefully someone less fortunate can appreciate the stuff more.

Errands & Wildlife

To get us out of the house for a few hours we decided to run a few errands. It was a nice day, filled with thick fog all morning that turned into a nice, fairly warm - dare I say almost spring-like afternoon. The sun on our faces felt great after having nothing more than the cold dry air and snow the past month.

On the way back Cicely saw this deer walking on the side of the road so we followed him slowly as to not scare him off toward the main highway. He was so awesome and surprisingly enough, not scared of us at all it seemed. He kept a close eye on us, but walked down the road parallel to us, only to turn and come down the snow bank right in front of the car.

Once he was across the road it all made sense. The female and 4 babies were waiting for him. So cute, the video does not do it justice what-so-ever, it was twilight so I was lucky to get the video that I did. We just felt bad because he was probably in that area to get some berries or something since there was less snow there, dang-it I sure hope that us lookiloos did not ruin dinner!

Seasons

Right up there with the fact that we get to experience all 4 seasons every year this is the other reason I absolutely dig where I live. There is a huge variety of wildlife all around and we get to see them as the seasons change with their offspring, nesting rituals and so on. I look forward to the baby quail for example every spring, they are awesome! The only downside is only a small percentage of them actually make it, and that is even if we manage to keep Oggy away from them.

Jury Duty

Sometime last week I don't remember if I mentioned it or not but Cicely received one of the dreaded jury duty fliers in the mail. She has actually had them sent to her at least 2 other times, maybe 3 and was always lucky enough to never have to attend. Well today she received the postcard in the mail with the instructions on what she has to do next to get all of her ducks in a row for her upcoming duty-date on the 29th.

Ugh, really sucks to be honest because she is busy at work, but unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it so she has to just roll with the punches and get it over with. Hopefully she will get lucky and get assigned to a case that interests her, but not one that goes on for weeks. More on that once her jury day gets here. Well, if I am allowed to say anything about it.

Gotta Run

I have many other reasons for saying that today was awesome, but this was a few of the highlights. Honestly all things equal, seeing the deer and his family really made my day. I think it made Cicely's day too and that just makes my day all over again. Plenty more to write about tomorrow but for now it's time to get some relaxation in, it has been a busy day! Supercross tomorrow and preparation for the workweek like every Sunday, gotta run.
