Heat, Storms, Humidity

Today I had to have Cicely drop Zoey and I off at daycare so I could get her checked in and ready for the day. I also wanted to be sure that the teachers had enough time to change her clothes. Its a bit of a task for them with 8 toddlers running around. It's the same for them all obviously, they have to get their swimsuit on, change them into swim diapers and finally slather them up with sunblock lotion all in preparation for another wet, wild and crazy Ponies SPLASHDAY!

I think that I could have easily had her checked in on time, we were early for once - yea seriously, not joking! Anyway, this way Cicely could leave me there and easily make it to her annoying and unnecessary daily game development meeting. On the bright-side, I was able to do a little hike, okay more like a walk, back to the studio. This was a nice way to start my day for sure.

I was on the phone a little which is stupid I know, but it was nice. If I do it again I will put my phone in my pocket and instead enjoy the view, sounds, animals and related more than I did this time.

Weird Weather

Its already really hot outside, well for my neck of the woods anyway. Someone in say, Arizona, would roll their eyes and laugh at my idea of 'hot' because it's probably well over 100° there at the moment. For me, it was already 81° which again is not crazy hot by any means, I actually really like weather in the low to mid 80's the best.

Problem is that we are usually very dry and little to no humidity. Summer storms are already changing that pattern big time. I checked before typing this paragraph and we are already sitting at 34% humidity. For someone in the mid-west, parts of Mexico and related they too would laugh-out-loud at my idea of humidity. Trust me, been there, dealt with that. Growing up in Missouri its really hot and humid as well. Though i do remember when Cicely and I went to Mazatlan, Mexico as part of a cruise.

We docked and the weather was awesome! We had breakfast, went to our room to get our stuff, headed back down and finally out and WHAM!, the heat and humidity hit us right in the face. Walking another 15 feet or so we were soaked, so yeah, I understand the difference.

Similar to yesterday we have hot weather, humidity as mentioned and supposed to rain again this evening. Last night there was tons of flash flooding just before our area. Usually we get flash flood warnings and it does affect us and not the other areas. This time it was the exact opposite. We had some rain, more like a nice downpour that you could still go out and play in as Zoey and did.

Tomorrow

That will do it for today. Tomorrow is our Friday because the 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year, giving us the day before as our official holiday. I have taken off a few other days as well, so has Cicely to extend the weekend for a change. We are off Monday and Tuesday of next week for a grand total of 5 days off from work. Not sure if Zoey is going to daycare any of those day yet or not.

The weather is not supposed to be that great either which really sucks. I want to do some rides and that will put a dampener on it. We also have plans to go to the baseball game on Saturday with Cicely's side of the family so let's hope for no rain then either. We want to watch fireworks with Zoey for the very first time!

Alright as mentioned, enough out of me for one day. Hopefully we are let out of work early tomorrow for the holiday as we often are. If not, no big deal but it will be super cool if so. Until then, enjoy your day as best that you can!

Photo: This was my view while hiking around the ring road from the daycare over to my game studio. Not a bad way to start the day, except for the fact that I'm sweaty now, it's hot outside!
