Anyone that knows me, knows that I do my best to not "live for Friday", everyday is important and should be enjoyed as much as possible. Otherwise step back for a moment and think about how much of our time we waste waiting for the weekend and to actually enjoy life when there is so much in between. Don't get me wrong, its not like I am jet-setting transcontinental between weekends (yet) but I do try to appreciate stuff in between. Will I occasionally write about hating a Monday or some other day? Say that the weekend was too short? Well of course I will I am human and enjoy 48 hours with family and friends over just a few everyday, sheesh c'mon people its basic math!
So I guess I should back up a little since this is the first post with any meat, mostly gristle, but some meat and I have yet to decide what exactly this blog / journal / whatever, will become. I have another journal application that I use daily and enjoy very much. Its called Day One and is available for all iOS devices as well as Mac. I like the fact that I can write anywhere with or without an internet connection (although admittedly I rarely am without internet like most) although I dislike the fact it only lives in those locations. There are pluses and minuses to that of course. The pluses being I can talk as openly as I wish and not have to worry about hurting any sensitive feelings that may stumble upon my attempt at putting thoughts into a journal or blog. On the negative side, its impossible to stumble upon it currently unless you have access to one of my devices, I upload it somewhere else, create a .pdf / digital book format or go old school and print it out on paper. I have considered duplicating it here for these reasons, but that then falls back to the problem of sensitivity as I like to mention names and related to better remember the context of situations I write about and those that were involved.
I have considered daily photos with a blurb, no idea what they may be of as I am sure its been done so many times that its, well, done. Heck even my old ideas from 10 or 15 years ago about shots of toilets (tasteful shots of styles and types) have all been done. I should just not give a shxt since I have not done it so its new to me and describes the sites I have seen for the day whether toilets, trees, signs or everything in between, no matter how vanilla they may seem to someone else. I do this in Day One as well in a sense, but they relate to the post at times too, so I don't want one to water down the other, ugh, dilemmas.
Admittedly I don't "write", and I use the word "write" very loosely, for anyone other than myself or if my beautiful wife wants to read it one day or my child should I have one in the future and they want to look back at the boring "doings" of his/her dad. Its a way for me to reflect on those small things I mentioned earlier and appreciate them all over again. Yea I'm kinda selfish that way.
In tandem with the journal / blog dilemma I am taking a daily photo of myself and have been since the beginning of 2012. I will probably never do it again and expect to be ecstatic when its over. Its a real pain in the ass to be honest for as easy as the task may seem. I have no idea how peeps do it for 3 to 5 or more years -- that there is some dedication this cowboy don't got! Anyway, I do have a point. Along with the daily journal entries in Day One it all adds up to a pretty big commitment and all the typing reeks havoc on my already pissed off tendons and joints. So I add on daily Blogger posts and it gets to be a little overwhelming so yea, I need to sort that out a bit. Maybe Blogger will be my weekly and Day One my daily. Hell, dunno although I imagine most anyone that has read this entry has fallen asleep by now, or has kept reading only to not miss when I get into the "juicy bits", sorry to say, you have hit the juicy bits . . . .
Photo: First attempt at a panorama shot of my company gym using my iPhone 5, not bad!
