Woke up this morning and decided it was the perfect day to take a line from Demolition Man and "enhance my calm", just as they kept telling John Spartan to do. Funny part is I starting enhancing it by having some freshly brewed Blind Dog coffee and enjoying the blue sky and sunshine filled morning. Seems counter productive, calm and coffee but it works for me.
So to further enhanced my calm I had a second cup of coffee and waited for Cicely to wake up from her Saturday sleep-in session. Once she was up and we each had a hemp protein shake we got cleaned up, dressed then headed out to take Oggy to the Sparks Marina for his weekly 2 mile lap. What a great way to start the day. It made me feel so refreshed and with the weather being nearly 70 degrees I was able to wear a tank top and shorts and get some sun, awesome!
After finishing our 2 mile lap we hopped back in the car and drove over to PetsMart to get Oggy's pawdecure for the month (nail grinding and clipping). This gave us the opportunity to sneak over to the Dollar store to get a few things for our upcoming vacation.
After spending a few bucks at the dollar store, we went back and picked up Oggy and made sure to let him get his "good boy bone" biscuit from at the cash register. One thing you don't mess with is a fuzzy kids good boy treat! He looks forward to that part of the trip every time and never forgets. Even if there is a line of people he will get in the back of the line and wait patiently for his turn. Once its his turn he walks up and politely sits like a good boy and waits for his treat. I love it, and it usually gets an "aww what a good boy" from anyone behind us in line.
We left PetsMart and headed over to Tha' Joint to get Cicely some sushi for lunch. I was not in the mood for sushi so I decided on teriyaki chicken and white rice. I'm stuffed so I doubt I will be eating anything much for dinner, my bad!
Once home we ate and watched the rest of FRINGE since we didn't finish it last night, great episode but sad because their daughter was shot by an observer and died, pretty big spoiler if you have not seen it so I wont say anything else. After, more relaxing!
Later, we decided to head over to the Summit Mall and hit the Apple store. I needed to get one of the new Lightening to 30 pin adapter cables that they finally have in stock. The friggin' basic $29 adapter (that of course I ordered 2 of) did not work with my iPhone 5 because of the case I have on it. This adapter will work but there goes another $40 for another stupid adapter.
In the news today there was some bummer news that tropical storm Sandy had pounded Cuba and The Bahamas', then Florida yesterday. At least now it is heading north up the east coast. They are referring to it as "the perfect storm", because its a combo of several storms all mixed into one. Perfect storm my ass, it sounds like some scary shxt if you ask me! I hope everyone on the east coast is safe and selfishly I will admit that I hope our trip is not affected because of it. Like the ocean being murky like when we went to Cabo San Lucas to snorkel about a month or two after the big storms they had a few years back.
In Mexico we had to watch out for jellyfish big-time! Luckily it was not bad once the boat captains found a nice place to drop anchor and let us into the water. If you ask me, even if the weather and water clarity is crap I don't care, I am going to enjoy myself to the fullest even if that means being shxt-faced for 8 days on rum and having ringing ears from all the steel drums!
I think that is about it for now otherwise my evening will be wasted sitting behind my MacBook Pro. I did want to leave those that may be reading this with a little piece of critical advice. Never get them wet, keep them out of bright light and never, ever, feed a Magui Gremlin after midnight, no matter how much they beg!
